Embedded System Integration Architect

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Embedded System Integration Architect will ensure the technical consistency, performance, and seamless integration of the AD L4 subsystem within an AV-ready platform. The role combines system architecture, cross-functional coordination, and technical integration to align hardware, software, and vehicle-level requirements. Within TECH Research, the team explores and assesses the feasibility of disruptive technologies, including AV-ready solutions for Level 4 autonomous driving. REAA/SACO scope focuses primarily on autonomy-safe system design and advanced connectivity. The architect defines and maintains the functional, logical, and physical architecture of the AD L4 subsystem; ensures hardware/software compatibility and integration within the global vehicle platform; drives requirements allocation and traceability to component level; and builds and justifies system design and safety concepts, including ISO 26262 alignment. The role analyzes the impact of introducing the subsystem on the vehicle platform, defines and coordinates integration strategies, and contributes to integration, validation, and verification plans. Working across system, hardware, software, safety, and validation engineering, the architect coordinates contributors across technical centers and domains, provides operational leadership, and drives technical arbitration and decision-making. The role also owns system-level QCDP objectives, reviews engineering deliverables for consistency and robustness, manages system risks and constraints, and participates in prospective and innovative activities, including technology intelligence.
