Embedded Software Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with strong knowledge of RF design and SW integration, specifically for individuals who have worked or are working in defense programs for Communication, Navigation & Surveillance (TCAS/ACAS, Transponder, DME etc.) products. The role involves leading teams and requires experience with DO-178C, DO-160G (EMI), and SW Requirements Development. Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly is essential, as is experience in DAL A software development and code reviews. The ideal candidate will be familiar with software development tools, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices. Experience with avionics functions, navigation, and airborne surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT) is crucial. The role also requires the ability to manage project risks, prepare planning and certification documentation, and ideally, experience with defense customers. Responsibilities include leading and organizing the RFIO SW Dev team, interfacing with HW and FPGA teams, and having flight test experience.

- Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles
- Experience with various application areas supporting Avionics functions, Navigation and Airborne Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT)
- Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively
- Experience in preparing Planning Documentation & Cert Doc
- Leading and organizing the RFIO SW Dev team
- Interfacing with the HW and FPGA teams
- Flight test experience (wiring diagrams for aircraft vs inputs from diff systems to know what planes can do and modified for test)
- Experience with engineering tools (montpa, x-scribe, managing and developing other tools to help)
- Experience with jira, bitbucket
- Understand how build works/compiler settings
