About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to participate in developing its MANET radios and advanced research projects. The position is part of the Software Engineering team and reports to the Director of Software Engineering. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with at least three onsite days each week—Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday—at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in West Los Angeles, California. Rare local travel may be required. Duties may be assigned or reassigned at management’s discretion. Candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen) due to U.S. government contracts. Employment is contingent on successfully clearing a background check and drug test. The listed compensation range is $38.46–$52.88 per hour; actual pay depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. Domestic relocation is provided.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Demonstrated expertise in C programming.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.
Employment is contingent upon successfully clearing a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to embedded system software development.
Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

Implement the software portion of MAC (Medium Access Control) and routing protocols.
Analyze and improve product security and robustness to meet regulatory requirements such as NIST FIPS 140-3 and Common Criteria.
Implement network management software and a web interface.
Develop applications and user interfaces for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
Implement testing software and conduct product performance and reliability testing.
Customize Linux systems and develop scripts.
Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
Travel locally as required by Silvus.
