About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, develops MANET and MIMO communications systems, including the StreamCaster family of radios and the proprietary MN-MIMO waveform. The Embedded Software Engineer participates in developing Silvus MANET radios and advanced research projects as part of the Software Engineering team. The position reports to the Director of Software Engineering. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with at least three onsite days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work location is Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in West Los Angeles, California. Rare local travel may be required. Employment is contingent on successfully clearing a background check and drug test, and candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents due to U.S. government contracts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Demonstrated expertise in C programming.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to U.S. government contracts.
Must successfully clear a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to embedded system software development.
Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

Implement software for MAC (Medium Access Control) and routing protocols.
Analyze and improve product security and robustness to meet regulatory requirements such as NIST FIPS 140-3 and Common Criteria.
Implement network management software and a web interface.
Develop applications and user interfaces for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
Implement testing software and conduct product performance and reliability testing.
Customize Linux systems and write scripts.
Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
