Embedded Software Engineer I

Seagate Technology•Longmont, CO
•Onsite

About The Position

Seagate’s Software Engineering organization develops embedded software for storage products, combining software fundamentals with close-to-hardware design to deliver reliable, high-performance product behavior. The Embedded Software Engineer I analyzes, designs, implements, debugs, and maintains embedded software components in C/C++. The role applies computer science fundamentals to product software problems and builds modular, testable software with clear interfaces, appropriate abstraction, and maintainable structure. It also contributes to embedded software architecture improvements for reuse, performance, reliability, and long-term ownership, and troubleshoots issues across embedded software, hardware, and storage product behavior. The engineer participates in code reviews, design discussions, and defect-prevention practices to improve software quality. The role is based at either Seagate’s Longmont, Colorado, or Shakopee, Minnesota, campus. The campuses offer on-site amenities such as cafeterias or cafés, fitness facilities, and recreational activities. Travel may be up to 10%.
