Email Marketing Specialist

etrailer•Wentzville, MO
•$60,000 - $65,000•Onsite

About The Position

At etrailer, email isn't just another place to promote products. It's an opportunity to stay connected with our neighbors, understand where they are in their journey, and share something that's relevant, useful, and worth opening. As an Email Marketing Specialist, you'll own the hands-on execution of email campaigns and customer journeys for both consumer and business audiences. You'll use neighbor behavior, purchase history, engagement, product knowledge, and business priorities to determine who should receive a message, what we should say, and when it will be most helpful. Relevance matters more than simply hitting send. You'll combine creativity with data, building and testing campaigns while continually learning from how neighbors respond. From audience segmentation and personalization to lifecycle journeys, QA, testing, and performance analysis, you'll have ownership of the details that turn an email into a meaningful part of the neighbor experience.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in email marketing, CRM, lifecycle marketing, digital marketing, or a comparable field.
  • Experience with platforms such as Listrak, Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or similar tools is valuable.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email.
  • Ecommerce or retail experience is helpful.

Nice To Haves

  • You think about the person receiving the email before the promotion you're trying to send.
  • You understand segmentation, personalization, lifecycle marketing, behavioral triggers, A/B testing, and the fundamentals of strong email execution.
  • You're comfortable using data to make decisions and willing to change your approach when the results tell you something different than you expected.
  • You have strong writing and editing instincts and can turn product-focused messages into something clear, useful, and easy to act on.
  • You care about the details. Audience selection, links, tracking, personalization, offers, and send settings all matter when thousands of people may receive what you build.
  • You're organized enough to own multiple campaigns from brief through deployment, reporting, and follow-up learning without losing track of deadlines.
  • You're curious, receptive to feedback, and comfortable collaborating with creative, Product, Analytics, Vendor, and other Marketing teammates.
  • You're curious about why people behave the way they do, like finding patterns in performance data, and enjoy turning those insights into a better next campaign.
  • You should be equally comfortable thinking creatively about a message and digging into the numbers afterward to determine whether it actually worked.
  • The ability to understand the neighbor and continuously improve the experience matters just as much.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build, test, schedule, and deploy promotional, educational, and lifecycle email campaigns using Listrak or a comparable email marketing platform.
  • Build meaningful audience segments using behavior, purchase history, engagement, profile information, and other signals to make messages more relevant.
  • Write and refine clear, useful email copy while partnering with creative teammates to bring campaigns to life in etrailer's helpful and trustworthy voice.
  • Own campaign QA, including audience selection, links, personalization, tracking, mobile rendering, offers, and send settings before anything reaches our neighbors.
  • Build and improve automated journeys such as welcome, post-purchase, browse, replenishment, and re-engagement programs.
  • Test messaging, creative, audiences, timing, offers, and other variables, then use performance data to understand what worked, what didn't, and what we should do next.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and deadlines, collaborate across etrailer, and have some fun finding better ways to connect with our neighbors.
