About The Position

CDP, a Boston-based public benefit corporation, enhances the operational efficiency and revenue generation of the public media system through a collaborative fundraising model. CDP serves over 230 NPR and PBS stations with outsourced marketing, data analytics, fundraising, and technology services, helping them increase net income, grow donor files, reduce costs, and focus on local engagement. Since its inception, CDP has generated $150 million in incremental net value for stations and is widely adopted in public broadcasting. CDP is committed to supporting both public media organizations and its team's professional development. The Digital Production Team, part of CDP’s Fundraising Operations Department, supports the Member Services Bureau (MSB) cooperative by managing web donation forms and a high-volume email solicitation program for over 50 public media organizations. The team annually sends over 75 million emails and processes more than 350,000 new donations via its webforms. This role manages the end-to-end email production process, including scheduling, asset coordination, campaign setup, HTML production, quality assurance, approvals, deployment, operational reporting, and managing two Email Production Specialists. The position supports the scalable execution of the MSB Email Solicitation Program and addresses individualized station needs within the cooperative’s service model. It involves extensive use of Iterable and collaboration with Strategic Marketing & Fundraising Services (SMFS), which handles email strategy, messaging, and testing. Success requires exceptional attention to detail, strong copy-editing and proofreading skills, robust technical email production capabilities, and the ability to manage a complex, high-volume campaign calendar.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of hands-on experience producing and managing complex email marketing campaigns.
  • Experience building, testing, and deploying campaigns in an email service provider or marketing automation platform.
  • Strong HTML and CSS skills, including experience troubleshooting responsive email content.
  • Experience with segmentation, personalization, dynamic content, templates, and automated journeys.
  • Working knowledge of email deliverability metrics and troubleshooting practices.
  • Experience managing quality assurance, proofing, and approval processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document workflows and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, membership, public media, or another mission-driven environment.
  • Nonprofit or public media experience is helpful but not required.
  • Candidates with relevant experience in agencies, e-commerce, associations, higher education, subscription businesses, or other complex email marketing environments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor the Email Production Specialists on the team, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous process improvement.
  • Build, test, schedule, and deploy email campaigns in Iterable.
  • Manage segmentation, dynamic content, catalogs, templates, snippets, and station-specific campaign variations.
  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot responsive HTML and CSS for email.
  • Manage the email solicitation calendar and coordinate campaign assets, requirements, deadlines, proofs, and approvals.
  • Conduct detailed quality assurance of copy, creative, links, tracking, audiences, suppression rules, personalization, and dynamic content.
  • Monitor deliverability metrics, investigate issues, and coordinate corrective action when needed.
  • Support IP warming and email onboarding activities for new MSB stations.
  • Track station participation (opt-ins and opt-outs) for all solicitations.
  • Maintain campaign documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Identify and implement improvements that strengthen quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for email production questions and escalations.
  • Partner with SMFS, Digital Production, client services, data, and technology teams to execute campaigns accurately and on schedule.
