Intern, Email Design - Remote Internship Opportunity!
About The Position
Road Scholar, the nonprofit world leader in educational travel for older adults, is seeking an Email Design Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This remote internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of inspiring adults to learn, discover, and travel. The intern will work closely with the Design team, writers, and marketing stakeholders to assist in the production of the email calendar, designing and building email campaigns using the CRM platform Braze, and supporting an image update project for email and web collections. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, travel, and making a positive impact, who is looking to hone their design skills and gain practical experience in a marketing environment.
Requirements
- Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university
- The freedom to work 20 hours/week for 14-16 weeks (September - December 2026) - working remote
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take and implement feedback, and prioritize work
- An interest in clean typography with an emphasis on user experience and accessibility
- A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to help wherever you can
- An online or digital portfolio (ok to include college work)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HTML/CSS
- Majoring in digital design, illustration, web or UX design, or another related field
Responsibilities
- Design/build, edit and launch 3-4 emails campaign proofs per week using established drag-and-drop templates
- Select, edit and update photos for use in email campaigns and web collections
- Transform manuscripts into polished and digestible enews content, using Road Scholar’s existing brand guidelines
- Provide creative support to and take direction from senior designers in producing high-quality digital assets for email and more.
- Present your work to marketing leadership at the end of your internship
