Intern, Digital Design - Remote Internship Opportunity!
About The Position
Road Scholar, a nonprofit leader in educational travel for older adults, is seeking a Digital Design Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This remote, 20-hour per week internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that inspires lifelong learning and adventure. The Design team collaborates with writers and marketing stakeholders to produce a variety of digital content, including emails, blogs, web pages, and social media graphics. Interns will gain hands-on experience in selecting and editing photos, assisting with landing page creation using a web CMS, and transforming manuscripts into polished digital content, all while supporting Road Scholar's mission to encourage learning, discovery, and travel.
Requirements
- Junior or senior year at an accredited college or university.
- Ability to work 20 hours/week for 14-16 weeks (September – December 2026) remotely.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of Canva.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take and implement feedback, and prioritize work.
- Experience in HTML/CSS.
- An interest in clean typography with an emphasis on user experience and accessibility.
- A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to help wherever you can.
- An online or digital portfolio (college work is acceptable).
Nice To Haves
- Majoring in digital design, illustration, web or UX design, or another related field.
- Experience in content management systems and/or project management tools.
Responsibilities
- Select, edit and upload photos for Road Scholar trips, instructors, collections, and other web landing pages.
- Design templates for social media content and create assets for the social team.
- Provide creative support to and take direction from senior designers in producing high-quality digital assets for web, blogs, social media, and more.
- Present your work to marketing leadership at the end of your internship.
