About The Position

Join Indiana Department of Homeland Security as an EMAC Administrative Contractor supporting critical emergency management operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accuracy, organization, and timely submission of reimbursement packets that enable effective disaster response and recovery. This on-site position is based in downtown Indianapolis, offering the opportunity to collaborate with state agencies, leadership, and partner organizations across the nation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
  • At least 2 years using spreadsheets and databases
  • Minimum 2 years reimbursement or financial reconciliation experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math and computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Emergency Management Assistance Compact or similar processes (training available)
  • Emergency management experience or credentials
  • Background in government, public sector, logistics, or supply chain coordination

Responsibilities

  • Review reimbursement packets for accuracy and consistency across multiple documents
  • Coordinate with other states, agencies, and personnel to gather and verify information
  • Provide routine status updates and progress reports to leadership
  • Organize, audit, and prepare comprehensive documentation for submission to requesting states
  • Support the Logistics Section Chief in closing out open EMAC reimbursement packets
  • Assist in cataloging, typing, and vetting deployable resources for emergency readiness
  • Maintain and support the Emergency Management Assistance Compact Operations System
  • Serve as a member of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) A-Team to process requests and offers
  • Review, draft, and execute Request for Assistance (REQ-A) forms during disaster activations
  • Monitor deployed resources, tracking mission progress and logistics
  • Guide personnel in building and submitting complete financial reconciliation packages
