About The Position

In this role, the database developer/maintainer will assist with the creation and sustainment of the Emergency Management Risk Management database. This position requires an active secret security clearance.

Requirements

Active secret security clearance
5-10 years’ experience in database program development, computer science, software engineering or related field.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and facilitate multi-agency responses with the proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Proficiency in producing technical reports, requirement documents, background papers, white papers, and similar Government documents.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Linux/Unix, HTML, CSS, C#, C++, Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, and SQL.
Ability to transform requirements into design concepts and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering
Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex joins, subqueries, stored procedures, and performing query performance tuning.
Experience building and maintaining custom solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application errors, database bottlenecks, and broken workflows.
Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.

Nice To Haves

Experience using Python for data manipulation, automation scripting, or API integrations.
Familiarity or building experience with Palantir (Foundry, Workshop, Pipeline Builder, etc.) to manage complex data integration and ontology development.

Responsibilities

Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from relational databases to support business intelligence and reporting initiatives.
Design and deploy custom canvas and model-driven Power Apps to streamline internal operations, improve user experiences, and replace legacy manual processes.
Architect and maintain automated workflows using Power Automate (cloud flows) to integrate disparate systems, reduce manual overhead, and optimize operation efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data pipelines and application architectures.
