Wake County Social Services' Food & Nutrition Services Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) plays a vital role in supporting low‑income households by helping them meet their monthly food needs. The mission is simple but powerful: end hunger, improve nutrition, and support the health of our community. This program also helps eligible households purchase the food necessary for a healthy, nutritionally balanced diet. In this essential role, you will help individuals and families access the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits they rely on. You'll determine initial and ongoing eligibility for Food and Nutrition Services through new applications and case re-determinations. You will conduct interviews either by phone or in person to gather information essential for making accurate eligibility decisions. The Wake County Department of Social Services team is grounded in a deep commitment to connection, compassion, and community. We bring together experienced professionals who collaborate to support individuals and families through complex challenges, connect them with critical resources, and promote long-term stability. We value insight, innovation, and a solutions-focused approach, and we welcome those who are ready to contribute their expertise to meaningful, community-centered work. Join us in making a lasting difference!
