This is an hourly position assisting with the receiving, processing, and shipping of dry edible beans. Responsibilities include dumping trucks and taking samples during harvest, loading finished product into various containers (rail cars, bulk trucks, totes, bags) during processing, inspecting samples, filling out documentation, and performing daily housekeeping duties. The role involves analyzing sample results to ensure product quality, troubleshooting process and machine malfunctions, and working safely to prevent injuries by adhering to all plant safety policies and using required personal protective equipment. Communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating the production process and operating the process to load finished product. The position also requires performing Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, adhering to all safety and process requirements, and identifying sources of trouble through observation. The Elevator Worker controls product flow to its final destination and must maintain awareness of and adhere to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines. Suggestions for work method improvements are encouraged, and participation in departmental meetings is expected. Light maintenance on various department machines is also part of the role. Immediate reporting of hazards, unsafe equipment, acts, accidents, injuries, and near misses to the supervisor is required, along with recommending solutions for deficiencies or improvements. Active participation in training, reporting to work in a condition to perform duties, practicing proper personal hygiene, and understanding workplace hazards and safety responsibilities are also key aspects of the position.
