About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors – Greater Victoria is looking for an exceptional Elementary Teacher to join our growing team in Victoria, BC. We provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in students' homes and online, supporting elementary learners in developing the foundational skills, confidence, and love of learning they need to thrive. As an Elementary Teacher with Prep Academy Tutors, you will work one-on-one with students from Kindergarten through Grade 7, providing individualized academic support in literacy, numeracy, and other core elementary subjects. Sessions are delivered in students' homes or online, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and tailor instruction to each learner's unique strengths and needs.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Education with a focus on Elementary Education.
• A valid BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged students.
• A strong understanding of the BC elementary curriculum.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, encouraging, and student-centred approach to teaching.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for in-home tutoring.
• The ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging one-on-one tutoring sessions for elementary students.
• Support students in reading, writing, mathematics, and other elementary subjects.
• Develop personalized learning plans based on each student's needs and goals.
• Build foundational academic skills while increasing student confidence and independence.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated.
