About The Position

BASIS Leander Primary is seeking an Elementary Teacher for 2nd grade with an immediate start. The role is part of BASIS Ed’s co-teaching model: Learning Expert Teachers (LETs) work alongside Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), who handle the main instruction in classes. This structure allows LETs to focus on students’ individual results, learning needs, and differentiated instruction rather than preparing multiple lessons each day.

LETs help cultivate a joyful learning culture that celebrates hard work and intellectual pursuits. They customize education to meet individual student needs and use their elementary education expertise to support students’ achievement. The position is responsible for one cohort of students and supports them through classroom transitions during the day.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead one cohort of students through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher for each class period.
• Use expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards needed to achieve a functional classroom learning atmosphere.
