About The Position
Harmony Hill School is a private, non-profit organization providing residential care, day treatment, and education services to male youths aged 8-18. Their K-12 school program is certified by the RI Department of Education. The school is seeking experienced Elementary Teachers to lead classrooms, focusing on direct student instruction and participating in planning and presenting individualized educational content. The role aims to cultivate student interest in learning, strengthen socioemotional skills, and achieve learning objectives in a safe, engaging classroom setting. This is a full-time, school-year based position working 35 hours per week.
Requirements
- Rhode Island Teaching Certification (any level, any subject) is required.
- Experienced educators with a passion for helping vulnerable students.
- New teachers with past direct care experience with behaviorally challenged youth will also thrive.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned classroom and focus on direct student instruction.
- Participate in planning and presenting individualized educational content.
- Work to cultivate student interest in learning.
- Strengthen socioemotional skills.
- Achieve learning objectives in a safe, engaging classroom setting.
