About The Position
The Woodbridge School District, comprising Beecher Road School (a PreK-6 elementary school), is seeking an elementary teacher for an anticipated opening for the 2026/27 school year. Beecher Road School is described as a caring, creative community that fosters lifelong learning, embraces diversity, and celebrates individual uniqueness. It serves approximately 875 students with around 175 staff members.
Requirements
- Background, interest, and/or expertise in elementary education at the primary and/or intermediate grade levels
- Hold or be eligible for State of Connecticut Certification as an elementary educator (001, 002, 004, 005, 013 or 305 certifications acceptable)
Responsibilities
- Promotes student engagement, independence, and interdependence in learning and facilitates a positive learning community
- Plans and implements instruction to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and to promote their curiosity about the world at large
- Maximizes support for student learning by developing and demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and leadership
