Requirements

• Professional Educator License with LBS Endorsement required
• Knowledge of Special Education programming, laws, and procedures to ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies related to special education services
• Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, diagnostic tools, and research related to students with disabilities
• Strong knowledge of teaching strategies, including visual supports, communication, social skills, and sensory regulation techniques
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data
• Case management of assigned students, which includes the development of standards-aligned IEPs, reporting on progress, and facilitating IEP meetings
• Provide specially designed instruction in literacy and math to support diverse learners
• Implement individualized behavior plans
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders
