About The Position

We are seeking qualified applicants for two temporary Summer Learning Coordinators for our Summer Learning program. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team that supports the efforts of making success possible for all Redmond students. The program aims to support student literacy development and academic growth through engaging, enrichment-based learning experiences that accelerate learning and increase readiness for the upcoming school year. The program will run for four weeks, Monday through Thursday, at one RSD elementary campus. Programming includes approximately three 1st-grade classes, three 2nd-grade classes, two 3rd-grade classes, two 4th-grade classes, two 5th-grade classes, and two 6th-grade classes, depending on enrollment. The Summer Learning Program will align with the State Summer Learning Grant goals: Advancing academic learning with a primary focus on literacy, Supporting holistic youth development through enrichment and belonging, and Ensuring equitable access and meaningful family partnerships.

Requirements

  • Hold a current TSPC license for teaching
  • Experience teaching K-6th-grade students
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., grade-level lead, instructional coach, summer program leadership, or committee facilitation).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience serving as a teacher in a Redmond School District summer learning program, demonstrating familiarity with program structures and expectations.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing complex schedules, systems, or logistics.
  • Experience planning and facilitating professional learning or staff training.
  • Ability to use student data to inform instructional decisions, grouping, and supports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and families.
  • Experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution in a school or team setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership role, maintaining alignment and consistency with a co-coordinator.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all 6 required sessions of district professional development and preparation.
  • Teach four weeks of Summer Learning.
  • Develop and collaboratively plan engaging lessons that are rooted in literacy instruction and enriching grade-level learning.
  • Collect pre- and post-data on targeted literacy skills.
  • Develop and manage master schedules for students, staff, and instructional blocks to ensure efficient and effective program implementation.
  • Coordinate daily program logistics, including student groupings, staffing assignments, and transitions.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules and systems in real time to respond to student and staff needs.
  • Support procurement and organization of instructional materials and supplies aligned to program goals.
  • Plan and facilitate pre-program training and ongoing support for summer learning staff.
  • Provide on-site leadership to ensure alignment to district instructional priorities, including use of HQIM and effective instructional practices.
  • Support teachers with problem-solving, planning, and implementation throughout the program.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for staff, families, and school leaders during the program.
  • Communicate proactively with families regarding program expectations, updates, and student support.
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication systems are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Work in close partnership with the co-coordinator to ensure cohesive leadership, aligned decision-making, and consistent program implementation.
  • Demonstrate strong relational skills to build trust, maintain a positive culture, and support staff morale.
  • Lead with flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Address day-to-day challenges with proactive problem-solving and sound decision-making.
  • Support resolution of concerns or conflicts involving students, staff, or families in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Maintain a focus on student-centered outcomes when navigating complex situations.

Benefits

  • Summer Camp Instructor Certified Stipend $11,500 Gross Pay (before taxes) for up to 200 hrs.
  • Final stipend pay will be prorated at a rate of $57.14/hour for absence from the agreed-upon schedule above, in the event of an emergency absence.
  • Final stipend pay will be paid with the completion of duties August 31, 2026.
