About The Position

This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans for elementary students requiring special education resources. The teacher will adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles, track student progress, and foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment. Effective communication with parents, administrators, and colleagues is essential, as is a commitment to continuous professional growth and modeling positive character traits.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop lesson plans aligned with grade-level TEKS and student IEPs.
  • Ability to provide appropriate grade-level curriculum aligned with grade-level TEKS.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the learning styles of students.
  • Ability to track and evaluate student progress.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a well-managed, risk-free and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Ability to communicate consistently with parents about academic concerns and behavior.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain positive relationships with administrators, colleagues, office staff, students, parents and community.
  • Commitment to continuous growth and development in grade-level content area.
  • Willingness to seek advice when needed to make informed decisions.
