Elementary Special Education Teacher (SPED)
About The Position
Cross Country Education is urgently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained, cross-categorical classroom in Monroe, MI. This role involves instructing students with diverse disabilities across different grade levels (K-2, 2-5, and 1-3) for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. The teacher will develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans, manage and communicate student progress, and maintain a safe and orderly classroom. Responsibilities include collaborating with other staff, supervising a teacher's aide, and communicating regularly with parents to ensure students' success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement (Required)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to occasionally transport students and attend required meetings and training.
