About The Position

Alden Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified, certified Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our Transitions classroom. This role involves providing specially designed instruction to support students' access to the general education curriculum content, collaborating with general education teachers, and adapting/modifying curriculum and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners in an elementary setting. The teacher will plan and implement lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks across varied subjects.

Requirements

  • Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement: Teachers of Students with Moderate Disabilities (Prk-8)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from accredited college or university
  • Experience with IEP development and data collection
  • Management skills that support students social emotional learning
  • Instruction and classroom management skills that support students' access to the general education curriculum content by providing specially designed instruction
  • Collaboration with general education teachers to deliver universally designed instruction to all learners
  • Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners in an elementary setting
  • Experience in the adaptation and modification of curriculum and assessments
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons that are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks across varied subjects
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
