About The Position

The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School is hiring special education teachers for Kindergarten through 4th Grade. Candidates may be eligible for Early Childhood Special Education Teacher roles in Kindergarten or 1st Grade, or Elementary School Special Education Teacher roles in 2nd through 4th Grade. Teachers teach across subject areas, build strong relationships with students, and foster a classroom culture that supports a genuine love of learning. Strong literacy instruction experience is particularly important. Special education teachers collaborate with general education co-teachers in integrated co-teaching (ICT) classrooms to support students with varied learning styles, abilities, and needs. They lead instructional blocks, tailor instruction to students, and provide co-teaching support. Early childhood teachers help students develop foundational reading, writing, and math skills, as well as social and emotional skills. Elementary teachers work in learning environments designed to nurture a love of learning and provide opportunities for physical activity. TEP aims to promote educational equity for students from historically underserved communities through world-class teaching and continued teacher growth. Master Teachers earn an annual salary of $140,000 and may earn an annual bonus of up to $35,000 based on whole-school performance. The school describes a redefined work year with three extended rest breaks and three professional development institutes, and approximately 10 weeks of vacation per year corresponding to school vacations.
