About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a passionate physical education teacher for its elementary grade levels (K-4). The P.E./Health teacher will lead daily P.E. instruction across multiple grade levels, supplementing other core academic areas. This is a full-time position within the existing specials department. As a specials teacher, they will work with students across multiple grade levels and be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other assigned duties as outlined by the School Leader. The specials schedule is subject to change and can vary by school, with each specials teacher instructing students across multiple grade levels. Teachers may travel to classrooms or have students transition to their own space. Class sizes are typically around 26 students, and a teacher will generally see a class once per week in a given rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (K-12 Physical Education/Health).
  • At least one year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom.
  • Possesses a deep commitment to both racial and educational equity for all children.
  • Passing a background check, as required by law.
  • Background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida House Bill 531.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • Two or more years of K-8 teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom.
