About The Position

Saint Patrick Academy is seeking a faith-filled, energetic educator to serve as the Music Teacher for the Lower School (PreK 3 through 4th grade), working 2 days per week. Saint Patrick Academy (SPA) is a co-educational Independent Catholic school serving students from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade in Portsmouth, NH. The Lower School includes Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade, and the Middle School houses grades 5–8. SPA offers a challenging and enriched curriculum designed to help graduates succeed in their chosen high schools.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with both colleagues and the community.
  • Experience teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students.
  • Passion for engaging young learners through music.
  • Skilled in curriculum development and instruction.
  • Willingness to incorporate interdisciplinary connections, performance opportunities, and varied instructional approaches.
  • Meaningful skill with technology.
  • Supportive of the Catholic mission.
  • Excited to work in a faith-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive music program that fosters a love of music, creativity, and performance among students.
  • Providing general music instruction.
  • Directing vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.
  • Creating opportunities for student performances within the school community.
  • Integrating project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and differentiated instruction into teaching practice.
  • Creating authentic learning experiences for students using technology.
