About The Position

This position is for an Elementary Music Teacher responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. The teacher will create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills, while maximizing opportunities for student success through positive working relationships. The role involves instructing and monitoring students in the use of learning materials and equipment, demonstrating proficiency with technology, and serving as a role model for lifelong learning and professional behavior. Flexibility, resourcefulness, and innovation are key, as is the ability to manage learning experiences responsive to student needs. The teacher will observe and evaluate student performance, encourage progress, assign and grade work, and provide feedback. This role requires the ability to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds. The teacher will also assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator and conduct themselves professionally, representing the School District positively.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
