About The Position

Saint Patrick Academy is seeking a faith-filled, energetic educator to serve as the Music Teacher for the Lower School (PreK 3 through 4th grade), teaching music 2 days per week. Saint Patrick Academy is a co-educational Independent Catholic school serving students from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade in Portsmouth, NH. The Music Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive music program that fosters a love of music, creativity, and performance among students. This includes general music instruction, vocal and/or instrumental direction, and opportunities for student performances within the school community. Teachers must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with both colleagues and the community. The ideal candidate has experience teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students, demonstrates a passion for engaging young learners through music, and is skilled in curriculum development and instruction. A willingness to incorporate interdisciplinary connections, performance opportunities, and varied instructional approaches is essential. SPA teachers are expected to demonstrate meaningful skill with technology in order to create authentic learning experiences for their students. Candidates should also be open to integrating project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and differentiated instruction into their teaching practice. SPA teachers must be supportive of the Catholic mission and excited to work in a faith-based environment.
