Elementary Instrumental Music-Strings (Part Time 0.2 FTE)
About The Position
The Arlington Public Schools is seeking an instrumental (Strings) teacher who has experience working with elementary age-children to provide group instrumental music instruction to students in grades 3-5 during the regular school day (AM) in the following areas: violin, viola, cello and bass. Requirements
- Experience teaching elementary-age children is required.
- Demonstrate expertise on their instruments.
- Strong background in and knowledge of materials, methods, and the pedagogy associated with their instruments.
- Experience teaching elementary students in a large group setting is essential.
- Exhibit dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage elementary-age children.
- Maintain and enhance enthusiastic participation in music making in a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in applied music or music education is required.
Nice To Haves
- MA DESE licensure is preferred.
