About The Position

KIPP Indy Unite Elementary is seeking an enrichment teacher to provide high-quality instruction in the arts, physical education, SEL, etc. Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in their classroom that produces strong results and student understanding. Teachers will use data to inform their instruction and do whatever it takes for all students to learn. Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite are committed to leading and teaching through a student-centered and culturally responsive lens, will work to make their classrooms safe, joyful environments, and build relationships with their students to ensure every student can be successful.

Requirements

  • Valid Indiana teaching license or applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license (required).
  • Strong understanding of foundational literacy and child development (required).
  • Unwavering commitment to KIPP Indy’s mission and vision (required).
  • Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred).
  • Proven record of fostering academic success in diverse, underserved communities (preferred).
  • Experience in using data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, rigorous, standards-aligned enrichment instruction for students in grades K–5 within the assigned content area.
  • Develop age-appropriate lessons that build students’ content knowledge, skills, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence while fostering enthusiasm for the enrichment subject.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports and extensions to ensure students with varying learning needs can successfully engage in rigorous learning.
  • Establish clear learning objectives and use checks for understanding, student work, assessments, and other available data to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
  • Create a safe, joyful, structured learning environment with clear routines and high expectations for student engagement, behavior, and participation.
  • Implement effective classroom management practices and consistently reinforce school-wide expectations across grade levels.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families and communicate proactively regarding student progress, successes, and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teachers, instructional leaders, and other enrichment staff to support student learning and contribute to a cohesive K–5 instructional program.
  • Maintain organized instructional materials, equipment, supplies, and learning spaces appropriate to the assigned enrichment content area.
  • Participate in school-wide events, performances, exhibitions, showcases, competitions, or other opportunities connected to the enrichment program, as applicable.
  • Participate actively in ongoing coaching, classroom observations, feedback cycles, collaborative planning, team learning, and required professional development; consistently implement feedback and agreed-upon action steps to strengthen instructional practice and student outcomes.
