Catholic Elementary Classroom Assistant
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy (www.rcahybrid.org) is seeking a part-time Elementary Classroom Assistant for a classical and Catholic classroom. This position is for 13 hours per week during the 2026-2027 academic year, located in Jacksonville, FL. This is an in-person, on-site role. The academy offers tutoring in a Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided for staff. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines will be provided, and tutors will receive training on instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Center hours are Mondays and Thursdays only, from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. A mandatory training day is required prior to the start of employment, with dates available in August 2026. All employees must have a clear background check.
Requirements
- Must be available to work 13 hours per week on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Must be available to attend one mandatory training day in August 2026.
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all appropriate sacraments.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have good organization.
- Must be timely.
- Must have a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Must have a clear background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Experience in ministry within a Catholic parish.
- Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
Responsibilities
