About The Position
The Lansing School District is seeking an Elementary Art Teacher for a 0.5 FTE position. This role is responsible for providing world-class art instruction to PreK-12 students in a safe and nurturing environment. The teacher will focus on building inclusive, collaborative classrooms where students can learn and grow. This position involves working alongside colleagues, parents, and students to ensure an excellent educational experience. The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 students across 25 school buildings in Lansing, MI, offering a variety of innovative educational options.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or in art practice
- Previous experience working with children
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Nice To Haves
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a specialty endorsement (i.e. LX, LQ, LZ, OX)
- Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
- Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies

- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
