About The Position

Great Hearts is seeking passionate, life-long learners to join their growing network of classical schools. They are dedicated to providing K-12 students with a high-quality, classical liberal arts education, aiming to foster intellectual and moral growth. The Fine Arts are a core part of the curriculum, with all students studying music, drama, poetry, and studio art. Studio art coursework emphasizes technique, imitation of masterworks, arts history, and appreciation. The faculty in the fine arts are often professional artists and performers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
• US work authorization is required
• Acceptance of OPT/CPT candidates
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
• May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.

Nice To Haves

• Certification is not required for general education
• All majors are welcome

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
