About The Position

Community For Learning (CFL) Project SEAL provides social, emotional & academic learning in fifteen Albuquerque school communities, primarily with Kinder-5th grade students. The program is designed to help at-risk students build resiliency, improve academic skills, and promote social skills. Supervisors will work with CFL staff to create a safe, educated, effective, and empowered school community that will improve the lives of all participants. Programming includes opportunities to develop academic skills, engage in recreation and outdoor play, participate in meaningful service-learning projects, enhance creativity and express themselves through art, explore and develop interests and talents, learn to work as part of a team, develop positive character traits, and develop leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (if Work Study)

Nice To Haves

  • Hardworking, caring, responsible, and eager to work with children and their families.
  • Experience working with children and community is helpful.
  • Fluent Spanish or ASL speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Willing to act as an effective member of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, flexibility and an ability to conduct professional and considerate interactions are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff at program
  • Provide support and maintain a good working relationship with students, community and staff to ensure a quality program.
  • Various administrative responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Will follow all state required regulations at all times.
