About The Position

Carondelet Cardio East is seeking an Electrophysiology Tech to maintain consistent pacemaker and ICD information and follow up on all enrolled pacemaker and ICD patients. This role involves assessing and reassessing adult and geriatric patients with implanted cardiac devices, providing comprehensive follow-up care, and collaborating with other healthcare providers to adjust the plan of care as needed. The position also assists in maintaining a current database for device clinic patients, understanding proper billing and reimbursement for implanted cardiac devices, and assisting with device clinic scheduling and triaging patient phone calls. Additional duties include performing device testing and documentation for A-V and V-V echo optimizations and clinical trials, providing patient teaching and resources, and performing other office duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technician program or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
BLS Certification
1-year cardiology experience

Nice To Haves

1 year pacemaker experience preferred

Responsibilities

Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by adhering to federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies related to job functions, and reporting concerns appropriately.
Assess and reassess adult and geriatric patients with implanted cardiac devices.
Provides comprehensive follow-up care for patients with implanted cardiac devices.
Collaborates with other healthcare providers to adjust the plan of care as needed.
Assists in maintaining a current database for device clinic patients.
Knowledge and understanding of proper billing and reimbursement as it applies to implanted cardiac devices.
Assists in device clinic scheduling and triages patient phone calls.
Performs additional device testing and documentation as needed for A-V and V-V echo optimizations and clinical trials.
Competently provides patient teaching and resources (e.g., support groups, health fairs), and performs other office duties as assigned.
