About The Position

Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. Responsible for maintenance of quality assurance for radiologic safety, equipment and the development of imaging acquired during cardiology procedures performed in the Electrophysiology Lab (EP Lab). Sets up and operates specialized equipment to include: physiological data recording system and related computers, programmable stimulators, mapping system, and various generators for ablation procedures. The Rad Tech EP Lab is responsible for assisting the cardiologists in all specialized non-invasive and invasive patient procedures performed in EP lab procedures by, analyzing electrocardiograph data, perform program stimulation of the heart, induce and terminate cardiac arrhythmia by overdrive pacing or DC cardioversion, apply energy to catheters for purposes of arrhythmia ablation, create 3D maps of cardiac chambers to evaluate electrical conduction of tachycardia. Assist the cardiologists in the performance of invasive procedures related to intra-cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers and other invasive cardiac procedures. Possess a thorough knowledge and ability to understand, demonstrate, and administer all procedures specific to cardiovascular technology. Cross trains with the ability and the knowledge to assist the cardiologists, interventional radiologists, and vascular surgeons in the performance of all non-invasive and invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Requirements

  • Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
  • Minimum Experience: 1 - 2 years directly-related experience
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R)
  • American Heart Association recognized Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider
  • Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Preferred Experience: 3 - 5 years directly-related experience
  • Preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)
