About The Position

This opportunity is with a respected regional healthcare system serving communities across Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. The organization is known for its advanced cardiac services, high-acuity inpatient care, and comprehensive subspecialty programs. The cardiology department includes general cardiology, interventional cardiology, EP, cardiac imaging, heart failure, structural heart, and cardiothoracic surgery. The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiologist to join its growing cardiovascular team in Dothan, Alabama. This is a full-time position offering a mix of outpatient EP clinic, inpatient consults, device management, and EP procedures. Candidates must have completed an EP fellowship and have expertise in device implantation, EP studies, ablations, and arrhythmia management. New graduates and experienced EP cardiologists are welcome to apply.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency, Cardiology fellowship, and Electrophysiology fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Electrophysiology
• Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• EP fellowship-trained cardiologists required
• Expertise in device implantation and EP procedures
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative cardiology team environment
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient EP and cardiology consultations
• Manage arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, SVT, VT, syncope, and conduction disorders
• Interpret ECGs, Holters, event monitors, and device interrogations
• Perform EP procedures, including: Pacemaker and ICD implantation, EP studies, Ablations, Cardioversions
• Support inpatient cardiology with consults, rounding, and device evaluations
• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, heart failure teams, and hospitalists
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs in clinic and hospital settings
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiac care meetings
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the EHR
• Support outreach and program expansion efforts as needed
