About The Position

The Electronics Technician supports the assembly, testing, and integration of advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) systems in a manufacturing environment. This contract position involves working with complex electrical and electromechanical assemblies and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to support production and delivery milestones. The role requires hands-on experience building, testing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex electrical assemblies. Work includes intricate wiring harnesses, soldering electronic modules and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), interpreting technical documentation, and using electrical test equipment. The technician may also support offshore operations and field activities related to advanced underwater systems when required by the contract.

Requirements

  • 4–12 years of relevant electronics technician experience.
  • Ability to perform detailed electromechanical assembly work involving tight tolerances and complex wire routing.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and concepts.
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Experience working from technical documentation, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on electrical debugging experience using equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, accountability, and product quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with urgency and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to support offshore operations travel if required by the contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subsea robotics, AUVs, UUVs, or underwater equipment.
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 400 VDC.
  • Avionics experience.
  • Subsea cable splicing or fabrication experience.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, pressure systems, or related equipment.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Teamcenter, NetSuite, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and integrate complex electrical assemblies into AUV platforms.
  • Support pressure vessel fabrication and assembly as part of AUV production integration.
  • Perform detailed electromechanical assembly involving tight tolerances, complex components, enclosures, and wire routing.
  • Fabricate complex wire harnesses and solder electronic modules and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Modify commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components to support manufacturing and integration requirements.
  • Perform electrical debugging using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other relevant test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electromechanical assemblies during manufacturing and integration.
  • Configure devices by flashing or loading the correct software and firmware versions.
  • Follow electrical documentation and engineering specifications to ensure compliance and product quality.
  • Design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve assembly and test efficiency.
  • Help develop, document, and improve pressure vessel production processes.
  • Support manufacturing workflow improvements and production requirements.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain organized work areas using 5S practices.
  • Perform part inspections, close work orders, and follow established safety procedures.
  • Support tool and equipment maintenance and calibration tracking.
  • Assist with raw material inventory management.
  • Follow engineering drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Provide offshore operational support and assist with field activities related to advanced underwater systems when required by the contract.
  • Follow applicable technical and safety procedures during operational support.
