About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is a company dedicated to innovating and building safety-critical products for power grids globally. Their devices prevent blackouts and enhance power system safety and reliability. SEL researches, designs, builds, tests, distributes, teaches, and supports its technologies, offering a strong product warranty and customer support. As an Electronics Technician, the role involves troubleshooting SEL products to the component level, conducting failure root cause analysis, and managing repairs within the Product Hospital operation in Pullman, WA. This position requires collaboration with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues and build customer trust.

Requirements

  • You have a two-year electronic engineering technology degree or equivalent
  • You have a strong understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor-based electronics

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience in electronic design, manufacturing, or testing
  • Working knowledge of structured programming
  • Process improvement experience

Responsibilities

  • Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot problems of high complexity to the component level on SEL products
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and products to ensure product quality and integrity
  • Provide basic troubleshooting training to junior department personnel
  • Partner with other divisions to satisfy the needs of our customers
