About The Position

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment used in our manufacturing operations, mainly in automation equipment. This position will ensure that all electrical and electronic systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with our company standards. The role involves developing and performing preventive, predictive, and total productive maintenance. The technician will interact with operators, supervisors, and co-workers in a team-oriented fashion, adjusting to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include reading electrical and electronic schematics, understanding technical books and manuals, researching online for component manufacturer information, and troubleshooting faults and breakdowns using various instruments, blueprints, manuals, and machine diagnosis. The technician will also be responsible for keeping records of faults and alarms, navigating machine systems, programming PLCs and HMIs, setting up drives, troubleshooting downtime to support production, and performing all tasks with urgency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Certification in Electronics Engineering or Associate Degree in Electronics technologies is required.
  • Correct use of testing instrumentation to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues.
  • Very good communication skills.

  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Mental alertness to identify and react to machine process, quality, and safety issues.
  • Effective communication with other team members and other departments’ personnel.
  • Previous experience as electronics technician or similar role.
  • A minimum of 3 years of industrial electronics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Competence in operating hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Extensive working knowledge of PLC’s, AC and DC drives, Human Machine Interfaces, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment, primarily automation equipment.
  • Develop and perform preventive, predictive, and total productive maintenance.

  • Read electrical and electronic schematics.

  • Research in the Internet for manuals and instructions from components manufacturers.
  • Troubleshoot faults and breakdowns using instruments, blueprints, manuals, manufacturer specifications, machine diagnosis, control parameters, and PLC ladder diagrams.
  • Work with machine voltages up to 480 volts.
  • Repair boards to the component level.
  • Keep records of faults and alarms by date and machine number in a computer database.
  • Navigate in the machine system to check operating parameters and general set up.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs, and set up drives.
  • Troubleshoot downtime in support of production and meet standards.
  • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
