About The Position

Seeking individuals who desire a career in manufacturing. Seeking skilled technicians to install, maintain, trouble-shoot and repair our electrical and electronic equipment. This role involves applying troubleshooting techniques and knowledge of production systems to diagnose machine problems, both electrical and mechanical. Repairs will be performed to manufacturer and company requirements. The technician will use a variety of hand and power tools and test instruments. They will install, adjust, and calibrate equipment to specifications, and practice preventative and corrective maintenance. This includes lubrication, cleaning, and repair or replacement of components. The role also involves repairing and maintaining building electrical services, complying with quality, ISO, and OSHA standards, and completing training on new and existing equipment. Proper lock-out-tag-out procedures must be followed, and the technician may be required to train other Electronics Technicians. The role may involve leading a team and rewiring/repairing manufacturing equipment such as drives, control panels, and PLC controls. Experience with PLC development software (AB, SIEMENS) for troubleshooting and maintaining machines is required, as is utilizing outside technical support resources. Repairs to mechanical equipment, specifying, installing, and troubleshooting new equipment, and repairing/maintaining buildings/facilities are also part of the responsibilities. Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and facilities, ordering spare and repair parts, and implementing CI/Cost reduction and safety projects are also key duties.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years’ maintenance experience including experience or training with electrical and electronics components
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Siemens and Allen Bradley troubleshooting
  • PLCs and CNC programming

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical degree and/or vocational training
  • Experience with benders, cutters, and/or roll forming equipment

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, trouble-shoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment and integrated systems throughout the company.
  • Apply troubleshooting techniques and knowledge of production systems to diagnose machine problems, both electrical and mechanical.
  • Perform or coordinate repairs to equipment per manufacturer and company requirements.
  • Install, adjust, and calibrate equipment to manufacturer, company and engineer’s drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain equipment, practicing preventative and corrective maintenance according to manufacturer and company specifications, including the proper lubrication, cleaning, and repair or replacement components.
  • Repair, modify and maintain building electrical service.
  • Comply with all quality, ISO and OSHA standards.
  • Complete training on new and existing equipment.
  • Use proper lock-out-tag-out procedures and ability to train other Electronics Technicians.
  • May work as a leader of a team, which may utilize helpers.
  • Rewire/repair of manufacturing equipment (i.e. drives, control panels, and PLC controls).
  • Use PLC (AB, SIEMENS) development software for troubleshooting and maintaining machines.
  • Utilize outside technical support resources (ie. AB technical support).
  • Making repairs to mechanical equipment.
  • Specify, install and troubleshoot new equipment.
  • Repair, modify and maintain buildings/facilities.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and facilities.
  • Order spare and repair parts for equipment and facilities.
