As an Electronics Technician Maintenance III, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the DoW and DoN. Candidate should be familiar and will play a crucial role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading Surface ship Torpedo Counter Measures and Defense AN/SLQ-25 systems. This role involves fabricating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic and mechanical developmental and production equipment, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions. The technician will perform complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Work is performed from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions. The role includes conducting complex engineering tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment, and recording gathered test data. Diagnosing and isolating equipment and system malfunctions which fail to respond to standard corrective measures, and constructing/assembling components, subunits, or simple models are also key functions. Adapting standard equipment for specific troubleshooting applications and repairing or modifying cables and equipment returned by operational users or by personnel in the associated test and development laboratories are part of the responsibilities. This position may provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians and requires maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Participation in special projects is also expected.
