About The Position

The Electronics Technician II can perform all operations duties listed on the Electronics Associate (H1) and Electronics Specialist (H2) descriptions. In addition, the Electronics Technician performs essential duties such as performing in-process and final electrical tests per approved ID test procedures, which may include motor systems tests and burn-in. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing to the component level, performing failure analysis, recommending corrective actions, and recording final test data accurately. The technician will also review manufacturing documents for completion and traceability, prepare required quality documentation, and coordinate with other associates and supervisors. Some positions may involve handing off completed work to the next cell in the assembly process. The role emphasizes facilitating quality in all operations as set forth in the ID Quality Manual and assisting in mechanical assembly of electronics hardware as required. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and observing safety precautions, including handling ESD sensitive components at static-safe workstations, are also key responsibilities. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records.
  • Knowledge of Electronic theory comprehension from system to component level.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Ability to use complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, adjustable measuring instruments; posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records, and related.
  • Ability to follow written test procedures and verify test limits.
  • Proficiency reading wiring diagrams, identifying components, and soldering.
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks without supervision.
  • Very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail for working with small electronic components.
  • Ability to detect and correct solder bridges and other discrepancies.
  • Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a 'U.S. Person' due to federal export control laws, which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents, individuals granted asylum in the United States, and refugees in the United States, or who otherwise can qualify for a license that permits them to hold the position.
