About The Position

The Electronics Technician can perform all operations duties listed on the Electronics Associate (H1) and Electronics Specialist (H2) descriptions. In addition, the Electronics Technician performs the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily: Perform in-process and final electrical tests per approved ID test procedures. This may also include motor systems tests, and burn-in. Troubleshoot and repair to component level. Perform failure analysis and recommend corrective action. Record final test data in a clear and accurate manner. Review all manufacturing documents for completion and traceability. Prepare required quality documentation. Coordinate with other associates within cell and supervisor. Some positions include handing off completed work to next cell in assembly process. Facilitate quality in all operations as set forth in the ID Quality Manual. Assist in mechanical assembly of electronics hardware as required. Keep tools and work area in a clean and orderly condition and observe prescribed safety precautions. ESD sensitive components/assemblies should be handled/packaged only at static-safe workstations. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records.
  • Knowledge of Electronic theory comprehension from system to component level.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Ability to use complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, adjustable measuring instruments; posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records, and related.
  • Ability to follow written test procedures and verify test limits.
  • Proficiency reading wiring diagrams, identifying components, and soldering.
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks without supervision.
  • Very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail for working with small electronic components.
  • Ability to detect and correct solder bridges and other discrepancies.
  • Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a 'U.S. Person' (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, individual granted asylum in the U.S., or refugee in the U.S.) or otherwise qualify for a license permitting them to hold the position due to federal export control laws.
