Amentum is seeking a qualified Avionics/Electronic Bench Technician II to support our operations at Naval Air Station in New Orleans, LA. The Avionics/Electronic Bench Technician II diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Avionic Test Equipment. This role involves observing and training under higher grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems. The technician solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications. They utilize automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions. The technician analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs Avionic Test Equipment to the component level using various tools such as multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. Additionally, this technician disassembles and assembles malfunctioning test equipment accessories and components, and performs removal, repair, cleaning, and corrosion treatment (including sandblasting and painting). The role includes performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Avionic Test Equipment, inspecting, testing, and operating Test Equipment to determine serviceability and proper operation, and diagnosing mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using senses, test equipment, and technical publications. The technician will also be responsible for stenciling and marking Avionic Test Equipment according to technical publications, and properly storing, handling, labeling, using, and disposing of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental standards and regulations. Good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety must be practiced at all times. This technician performs routine and non-complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. They select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, and review, analyze, and evaluate test results, preparing reports on findings and recommendations.
