About The Position

Amentum is seeking current local high school students familiar with microelectronics for a six to eight week (or more depending on availability) full-time on-going apprenticeship. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in microelectronics within a government support environment. You will learn from seasoned managers, technicians, scientists, and engineers, contributing directly to Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. This role provides exposure to various engineering disciplines and a chance to develop your skills on sophisticated government systems, all within a supportive team environment designed to foster excellence.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older to hold DoD security clearance.
• Current pursuit of an undergraduate in Electronics Technology or equivalent in the field of electronics.
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (no rounding) at current institution.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process to include background check and drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

• Support government client at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.
• Apply academic knowledge in a practical setting.
• Join a team of dedicated technicians and engineers.
• Contribute directly to Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives.
• Gain exposure to various engineering disciplines.
• Develop skills on sophisticated government systems.
