About The Position

Amentum is seeking current local high school students familiar with microelectronics for a six to eight week (or more depending on availability) full-time on-going apprenticeship. This apprenticeship offers University candidates focused on Microelectronics an internship experience that is hands-on, informative, and rewarding. You’ll have the chance to learn from seasoned managers, technicians, scientists, and engineers, allowing you to dive right into the world of government support. Amentum offers a compelling Apprenticeship during the academic school year, providing an opportunity for aspiring STEM professionals to support our government client at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. We are looking for enthusiastic and collaborative students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. As an apprentice, you will join a team of dedicated technicians and engineers, contributing directly to Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. This role provides exposure to various engineering disciplines and a chance to develop your skills on sophisticated government systems, all within a supportive team environment designed to foster excellence.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to hold DoD security clearance.
  • Current pursuit of an undergraduate in Electronics Technology or equivalent in the field of electronics.
  • Minimum 3.0/4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (no rounding) at current institution.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance)
  • Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process to include background check and drug screen is required.
