About The Position

The Electronics Quality Control Inspector/AOI Operator on the 2nd shift plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in electronic assemblies and components. This position is responsible for conducting thorough inspections using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems to detect defects and deviations from specifications. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to identify issues early in the production process, thereby minimizing rework and ensuring customer satisfaction. The inspector collaborates closely with production and engineering teams to communicate findings and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this position contributes to maintaining product integrity and compliance with industry standards, supporting the company’s reputation for excellence.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer based applications
  • Have experience with electronic assembly including; SMT, T/H & Mechanical
  • Ability to effectively operate visual magnification devices (scope)
  • Ability to effectively operate and interpret basic electronic measuring devices
  • Ability to effectively operate and interpret basic mechanical measuring devices
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or quality control, preferably with exposure to AOI systems.
  • Basic math and computer skills including data entry and use of quality management systems.
  • Acceptable visual acuity and eye-hand coordination
  • Must have, or be able to acquire, operator certification for IPC-A-610
  • Must have, or be able to acquire, operator certification for J-STD-001
  • Ability to review and interpret technical data packages for electronic assemblies

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to inspect electronic assemblies for defects such as soldering issues, component misplacement, and surface anomalies.
  • Perform visual inspections and manual quality checks on electronic components and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results accurately and report any non-conformances or quality issues to the quality assurance and production teams promptly.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering personnel to troubleshoot defects and implement corrective actions to improve product quality.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration and cleanliness to guarantee reliable and consistent inspection results.
