About The Position

Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for an Electronics Hardware Engineer Co-Op, to join our team in January 2027, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This individual will be able to gain hands-on experience utilizing knowledge of electronics design and simulation to analyze design solutions and ensure electronics resiliency. They will work to evaluate and test product design solutions in a lab environment, supported and mentored by senior engineers with an abundance of experience.
Duration: 6 months, January 2027-July 2027

Requirements

• Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
• Understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design with courses similar to: electronic circuits, circuit analysis, electromagnetism, signal analysis.
• Ability to discuss a project you have worked on and articulate responsibilities and role.
• Basic abilities with SPICE tools, PCB design suites and MS365.
• Interest in electronics lab equipment, oscilloscopes, power supply, signal generators, etc. Experience is a plus.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work full-time based in Cedar Rapids, for 6-months starting January 2026

• Experience with electronics lab equipment, oscilloscopes, power supply, signal generators, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, develop, test, and validate electronic hardware solutions for power distribution and circuit protection products.
• Support electronic products resiliency with design updates, component substitution and cost optimizations.
• Modification of schematics, layout and other design documents.
• Help with prototype builds for testing.
• Write and implement test plans, including test instructions and acceptance criteria.
• Interpret test results and other data.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electronic hardware systems.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Present project summaries to internal experts.
