About The Position

You will play a key role supporting the engineering and production teams in our St. Mary’s facility, contributing to the build and integration of electrical assemblies for space and terrestrial applications. Your role will focus on hands-on electrical and electronic assembly work, including harness fabrication, soldering, inspection, and testing. Responsibilities will vary day-to-day depending on production needs and project timelines, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment. Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 1–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in electronics assembly or manufacturing (co-op/internship experience considered)
  • Experience with cable/harness assembly and crimping tools
  • Proficiency in soldering and rework techniques
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic test equipment
  • Understanding of ESD practices and controlled work environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work efficiently and autonomously
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with basic embedded or test scripting (e.g., Python)
  • IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
  • Experience in aerospace, space, or other high-reliability industries
  • Experience with environmental testing or hardware integration
  • Familiarity with documentation control and configuration management systems
  • Interest in the space industry

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fabricate electrical harnesses, cable assemblies, and electronic subassemblies
  • Perform soldering (through-hole and surface-mount) to IPC or equivalent quality standards
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Perform inspection, continuity checks, and functional testing of assemblies
  • Support integration of electrical systems into larger hardware platforms
  • Maintain accurate build records and documentation
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve designs
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and cleanliness requirements
  • Support inventory management of components and supplies
  • Contribute to process improvements for assembly efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
