About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking Electronics Assemblers in Madison, Alabama for an approximately five-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will perform electronic and mechanical assembly, soldering, wiring, rework, and inspection activities on production assemblies and subassemblies, including modules, circuit boards, panels, frames, and cables.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related electronic or mechanical assembly experience.
  • Experience with soldering, surface-mount technology (SMT), and/or wire-harness construction.
  • Ability to read and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Experience using microscopes for precision assembly work.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, jigs, and related production equipment.
  • Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
  • Ability to perform detailed rework, modification, and assembly operations.
  • Strong attention to quality, workmanship, and production requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • J-STD soldering certification.
  • Experience assembling or troubleshooting RF systems.
  • Experience with Communication, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems.
  • Experience reworking or modifying dense SMT circuit boards.
  • Experience building or modifying prototype cables.
  • Experience assembling small mechanical components under a microscope.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems such as SAP, Solumina, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ESD, FOD, ITAR, and AS9100 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic and mechanical production assembly operations.
  • Assemble modules, circuit boards, panels, frames, cables, and other subassemblies.
  • Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, and detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Perform soldering, SMT assembly, wiring, and cable-building activities.
  • Use microscopes for precision assembly and inspection.
  • Perform initial layouts and use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and saws as required.
  • Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies.
  • Perform quality inspections in accordance with established specifications.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble electronic or mechanical assemblies.
  • Support testing of experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Follow established manufacturing, quality, and workmanship requirements.
